Beaches
There are two stretches of unspoilt coastline
within 10 minutes of the apartment. Firstly there is the Costa de
La Luz (Spanish Algarve) from Isla Canela down to Matalascanas.
Then you have a choice of equally beautiful beaches along the
Eastern Portuguese Algarve coastline. Beaches along the Costa de la
Luz are generally long, sandy and backed by dunes and pine woods.
During July and August the beaches nearest the resorts are mainly
busy with Spanish visitors from Huelva city and Sevilla.
For the rest of the year, this coast is uncrowded
and even in Summer, it's possible to find a relatively peaceful
place on the beach. Although the beaches are exposed, they are less
windswept than ones along the Cadiz stretch of the Costa de la Luz,
but it's still good for windsurfing. The two main beaches are Punta
Moral Beach and Isla Canela Beach.
As the Punta Moral beach and the Isla Canela beach
are connected to each other, it is easy for you to access it when
strolling along the seashore. Those who are with a car simply have
to keep an eye open for the urbanisation which is named after the
beach. It is a much more natural beach with a few bars and
restaurants and some showers. The beach is separated from its
surroundings with sand dunes and bushes which have to be crossed
first.

The Isla Canela Beach is the last one in Huelva
before reaching the border to Portugal. It is a large beach with
5.5 kilometres in length and about 60 metres wide. Unlike its
neighbour, the Punta Moral Beach, this one is urbanised and
features everything from typical chiringuitos (beach bars) to
sports facilities. When entering the beach, you will walk on a path
through vegetation before reaching the fine sand and calm sea. It
also has a disabled access with wooden footbridges that lead half
way into the beach. Due to its facilities, the Isla Canela Beach is
popular with families and groups of friends. It offers parasols,
hammocks, beach volleyball, showers and parking spaces. Water
sports such as windsurfing are possible.
